They often say, "Experience is the best teacher," Boy, do I believe it!

It's incredible how life can take unexpected turns. Two years ago, I would've laughed if you had told me I'd be where I am today. I was just a simple, minimalist girl with dreams of cruising down the dusty roads of Zimbabwe. But you know what they say about plans and God's plans, right? Suddenly, those dusty roads were replaced with snowy highways, and I was in uncharted territory—no chauffeur in sight, just me and the open road of life. No one was coming to rescue me—I had to figure it out myself.
I am still in the process of learning and adapting. This experience reminded me that while transformation is ongoing and we are always forever becoming, embracing the journey is important. So, let me share
with you five insights I've gained from navigating through the challenges
of winter driving:
1. Plan Ahead for Smooth Sailing:
Planning ahead isn't just about avoiding last-minute stress; it's about setting yourself up for success. It's like laying out a roadmap for your dreams. Sometimes, plans don't go as expected, but that's okay. Planning alone prepares you for whatever twists and turns come your way.
2. Follow the Tracks of Experience:
Learning from those who've walked the path before you is invaluable, as is following tyre tracks in the snow. Elders and mentors, like guiding lights, show you the way through life's snowy patches with their wisdom and experience, making you feel guided and supported.
3. Focus on the Bright Side:
Amidst life's storms, it's crucial to stay focused and positive. Think of it as keeping your eyes on the road and ignoring distractions. By maintaining a clear mindset, you'll steer through challenges with grace and determination, making you feel empowered and in control.
4. Maintain Your Distance:
Keeping a safe distance on snowy roads isn't just about physical space and finding balance. Similarly, life is about surrounding yourself with supportive people while respecting your boundaries. It's like driving alongside others without losing your own direction.
5. Slow Down for Reflection:
Speed isn't always the answer—whether on the road or in life. Taking a breather allows for introspection and appreciation of the journey. So, don't be afraid to hit the brakes, reflect, and soak in the beauty around you, making you feel introspective and appreciative.
Driving on snowy roads may pose challenges, but they also offer profound lessons. By embracing these principles—planning ahead, drawing from experience, staying focused, finding balance, and slowing down—you'll navigate life's highway with resilience, wisdom and grace.
Let's embrace the adventure ahead with open hearts and a spirit of curiosity!
